Gail and John have owned and operated Lakeland Photo Holidays since 1999 and have built the business up into the premier residential photographic centre in the country.
The business is founded on the principle that everybody is different. They like different things, they view things in a different way, their life experiences are different and their level of photographic experience ranges from the beginner to the expert. That being said there are no stupid questions and all photographs are subjective much in the same way as some people love Marmite and some people hate it.
John and Gail enjoy working with young people, having been initially inspired by their own daughter Emma’s photography and their son Michaels' excellent artwork. Gail id a firm believer in the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme, having completed bronze, silver and gold levels herself. Both John and Gail are CRB checked the only photographic centre in the UK who will work with young people from 11 upward (with adult attending) or unaccompanied from 16. After the recent success of young persons workshop in July 2011, they plan to run a young persons workshop on an annual basis.
Johns and Gails moto is One Life, Live It - found on the side of their infamous Camel land rovers. They hope to continue to inspire photographers for many more years to come and enable them to leave LPH as Fitter, Focused, Fatter Photographers - statement made by one of our guests in 2001 which is still as relevant today as it was then.
