The modern well-appointed bedrooms are themed in-line with the Lake District environment in which Lakeland Photo Holidays operates. Each bedroom has tea and coffee making facilities as well as Wi-Fi Internet access (available throughout the house) allowing guests to keep on top of those dreaded emails

One of the single rooms is located on the ground floor and has a wet room for those less able guests.
John and Gail are committed to offering the highest standards in not only teaching but in both service and accommodation. With this in mind they have a rolling program of renovations and improvements. An example of this was the creation of three new guest rooms, a digital room and the lecture room, which was completed for the start of the 2009 season. Since then they have upgraded several of the en-suite facilities, resurfaced and extended the car park and driveway, repainted the exterior of the house and hallways and replaced a chimney.
There is a digital darkroom with computers for up to three people at a time, allowing guests to make the most of John’s guidance. For those in search of inspiration the lounge has an extensive photographic & general library providing information and relaxation in equal measure.
The lecture room has a huge 52” HD screen that provides the perfect viewing platform for guests to show a cross section of their day’s photographs. Used on a nightly basis for viewing and discussions it allows John to review the images interactively and where necessary to drop into Photoshop to demonstrate how a picture can be enhanced.
The atmosphere is relaxed and guests all eat together round the large dining room table that can accommodate ten people which creates a warm and convivial ambiance. This ensures that all guests feel included in the group and has helped to create long lasting friendships, with guests planning additional workshops together due to the camaraderie that evolves.
Being located in the English Lake District inclement weather is always a possibility so we offer full laundry facilities as well as a drying room for outdoor clothing, boots etc. There is a charge for the use of the laundry facilities, but not for the drying room.
We are fully licensed with large variety of Wines and a great selection of bottle-conditioned beers from the Hesket Newmarket and Kirkstile Inn Breweries.
