These are our most popular workshops and run from end of January through to beginning of December.

The digital photography landscape workshops cover all aspects of landscape photography in the Lake District. The majority of our guests stay for 7 nights, although there is a four night option available from Sunday to Thursday if preferred.

In 2009 we started new photographic courses, focused on nature (flora & fauna) within the Lake District. The workshops are 7 nights and have the same format as our regular landscape photographic courses, except that the walks have a nature bias depending on the season. There is a four night option available from Sunday to Thursday if preferred.

This is a 5 night workshop fully escorted workshop which includes four full days out with John, visiting locations which involve a minimum of walking, and on as flat a terrain as possible (bearing in mind this is the Lake District) with a maximum of one mile walking at any location. Some of guests suggest this provides  ‘less walking and more photography!”

The price for 2010 is £660.

This workshop recognises the need that some people would like to experience longer and more strenuous photographic walks. The format will be the same as our regular Landscape workshops but people need to be fit and able to walk at least 5 miles on steeper than normal rocky terrain, carrying cameras & tripods!

Price is £640 for 2010.

This is a 5 night workshop,  aimed at people who have tried Photoshop and now want to get the most out of the product to enhance their photography.

The workshop will provide an overview of the product, full use of adjustment layers and layer masks; it will include a full explanation of of colour space and profiles through to the printing process itself.

The workshop will also include practice sessions and a full-day photographic excursion with John.

Price is £660 for 2010

This is a 5 night workshop focusing solely on digital black & white photography, from the basic exposure, and a full understanding of data capture and histograms, through to a logical digital workflow in PhotoShop. An overview of paper finishes and types to maximise black & white print quality is also covered.

The workshop comprises two days in the field photographing and two days of practical PhotoShop instruction. Places are limited to 6 people to cater for ample room and individual attention.

Guests arrive at 4pm on the first day, have tea, then relax till 7pm when dinner is served. The workshop starts after dinner with an introduction session. The workshop comprises two days in the field photographing and two days of practical PhotoShop instruction, the formats of the days are flexible depending on the weather. Places are limited to 6 people to cater for ample room and individual attention.
