Borrowdale

Where we go each day is always governed by the weather (there’s no point going up a hill if you’re going to be stuck in the cloud); the physical capabilities of our guests (we will never ask you to do a walk that you would find too difficult) and most importantly, the groups “wants” (places they want to go or specific subjects they want to photograph). We retain total flexibility on all our days, selecting routes that will maximise your photographic opportunities.

Borrowdale is an area just to the south of Derwentwater, within easy access of LPH, parking either at Rosthwaite or Seatoller, there are many varied walk routes around the area – some very flat, others with only a moderate height gain. Most of our walks are only around 3 miles long, and we take the whole day to cover the distance, so they are well within the fitness capability of most people.

The photos show one of our walks from Rosthwaite, around Castle crag, showing the variety of photos available, from trees within the rolling landscape, to rivers, dry-stone walls, disused quarries and views across the northern fells. This route is just over 3 miles long (and we take about 6 hours to complete it at an average speed of ½ mile per hour!).
