Sometimes called the land of fire and ice, Iceland offers a wealth of photographic opportunities. Dramatic coastlines, vast waterfalls, glaciers, icebergs and active geological features, Iceland has it all.
This is a new 2011 destination for Lakeland Photographic Holidays working in conjunction with Keswick based KE Adventure Travel, and one that John is particularly excited about. The images of myths, legends, trolls, elves and Norse gods all conjure up dramatic scenery, and for good reason, the Icelandic vistas are simply breath-taking, nature at its most impressive.
Guests, as always will be under John guidance, as he helps them make the most out of the stunning photo opportunities they are presented with. In the evenings you will have a chance to discuss that days images, and John can offer helpful insight and constructive criticism into what has worked well and what could have been changed to improve the image.
Using an experienced local guide John and his guest will visit the formidable “butterchurn” geyser that shoots water over 100ft in the air every few minutes and the powerful Gulfoss or “Golden Waterfall”. There will be a chance to photograph the amazing costal rock formations at Vik and the icebergs of the Jokulsarlon lagoon.
