Gail and John have owned and run Lakeland Photographic Holidays since 1999 and have worked hard to build the business up to being the premier residential photographic centre in the country.
The business is founded on the principle that everybody is different. They like different things, they view things in a different way, their life experiences are different and their level of photographic experience ranges from the beginner to the expert. That being said there is no such thing as a stupid question and all photographs are subjective.
John and Gail enjoy working with young people, having been initially inspired by their own daughter Emma's photography and their son Michael's excellent artwork. Gail is a firm believer in the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme, having completed bronze, silver and gold levels herself. Both John and Gail are CRB checked and Lakeland Photographic Holidays is the only photographic centre in the UK that will work with young people from eleven upwards (with an adult attending) or unaccompanied from sixteen.
John and Gail's motto is 'One Life, Live It' - found on the side of their infamous Camel Land Rovers. They hope to continue to inspire photographers for many more years to come and enable them to leave LPH as 'fitter, focused, fatter photographers' – A statement made by one of their guests in 2001 which is as relevant today as it was then.
